Really long blog post part 2

This is the second half of the really long blog post. Mostly, I am posting my get from the week after the meet. ;281 But, I did do something besides shop, so hang tight and I’ll get to it. ;367

Finally decided to invest into some Dolly Wink lashes. :] I think it was the sweet girl set that I bought.

They really bring my make up together and makes it look so much more dolly than just using a little bit of mascara.

Bought these from Mitsuwa while hanging out with my waifu, Caitlin this past week. :D They’re wonderful, though I’m still figuring out the bottom lashes since those are pretty much new to me all together. hk_iunno   Richie was also finally able to accompany me down to Irvine and we did a little bit of shopping. Went to the Rilakkuma store, had some awesome ramen from Ajisen and then did purikura to finish the day off since Caitlin had to leave for class. After she left, we walked around The South Coast Plaza and I bought a book to put my purikura in. hk_dokidoki

I had fallen in love with Caitlin’s keyring so she took me to buy one like it. It was the last one in the store! ;128 I got lucky.

These I bought directly from Caitlin. They’re btssb Mille Fueille platform shoes.

The soles are wooden, but surprisingly light and comfortable! Beats wearing heels all day, that’s for sure. bear_teehee

Chocomint accessories that I received some time ago while doing a group order. Never got around to posting them so, here they are!

;32 Richie’s first purikura picture! ;32

Forgot to scan it before I put it in the keyring and now I can’t get it out. *ga-a-an*

This past Sunday, I went back down to Irvine to hangout with Caitlin again. dancey_dancey curly_up She had some local lolita that she insisted that I meet so I did. We stopped in to Crepe de Paris and had luncheon there and talked about the upcoming happenings in the community for September. I’m hoping to make at least one of them seeing as how Richie may or may not be able to go. ;276 (Usually, this is because we’d never make it back in time for him to get to work and it’s not a good idea for him to miss work. Especially because Irvine is about 2 hours away! ;300 )

Here’s how I did my make that day. As you can see I’m using my Dolly Wink. hk_pose

The first thing that Caitlin said when I arrived was, “Omg, you look so cute! D: I don’t even–”

Guess I’m doin’ it rite? ;76

My coord. I was wearing a blue cardigan but I traded my pony bag (+$30) for this Dreaming Macaron cutsew from Angelic Pretty. :D Surprisingly, it fit my big boobs. ROFLMAO Then again, if it fits Caitlin, I can have faith it’ll fit me. (She’s gifted in the chest area too. ;298 )

Towards the end of the evening, Caitlin and I decided we wanted to do purikura. A friend of ours was feeling pretty crappy lately, so we encouraged her to come out and meet us to do karaoke and purikura.   I think it made her feel a bit better. pastel_star

Top to bottom:

Caitlin, Christine and then me on the bottom. bear_teehee

And so this concludes the really long blog post series! ROFLMAO Really, I should have just broken this up into a few different posts, but I am lazy. ;100

;194 Good night all! ;194

Swan Lake + surprise slip up

I received my Swan Lake in the mail! It’s absolutely more beautiful in person than I thought it would be. It’s vibrant and very eye-catching. As I have explained time and time before, this print is a print I had seen on a girl walking down the street in Downtown L.A. two years ago. She had the black colorway and it was just as vibrant except w/ blues in it. (I want the black color way too, btw. ;158 ) It made me fall in love with Lolita in a way I had never loved it before. I knew about lolita, I dabbled in it during Jr. High and High school, but when I saw that print, I knew one day, I’d own it. ;215

So, here we go!

Both my packages arrived safe and sound, after a small mistake at the post office. They scanned in the wig as received at 6:00am but it hadn’t even been delivered because they don’t do deliveries at that hour! ;332

The beautiful skirt! As you can see, it needs a little bit of gentle ironing as it was bought NWT and it’s probably spent a lot of time in its package.

Glorious close up of the print. (Do those swans remind you of a sozai I have on my blog? ;100 )

And last but not least, a photo of it worn. The skirt sits pretty high on my waist as it’s a bit too tight to be near my hips (LOL @ my hips being puffy cause they are. </3)

On to the wigs! dancey_dancey curly_up

This was a bit of a surprise in two ways. #1: I ordered wig spray, but didn’t get it. I’ve contacted Cyperous so I’m hoping they can help me resolve this. I have a feeling that if who ever was packing is anything like me, the bottle was right next to the box but they forgot to put it in. ROFLMAO

As you can see, the bouffant is not as prominent as the other wig I ordered. A little teasing might help it pouf up though. burst_heart

Side by side after styling the old one (right)

The difference between the two is phenomenal! I love how relaxed the new one is, it’ll allow me to wear it with more casual styles in or out of Lolita. ;155 I’m over all happy with the wig, but I’m a tiny bit upset about the wig spray as it was the one thing I was absolutely needing without a shadow of a doubt because brushing these things w/o detangler is just a nightmare. ;362

Baby, the stars aren’t always bright.

I finally got my OP from Baby, the stars shine bright. hk_pose It’s as cute as a bug’s ear. Except, the bodice wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. But, I’ll get to that in a bit. Let’s just start off with our routine “package opening” photos. hk_dance

Please be warned that the following is extremely image heavy.

There it is. The beautiful one piece. ;76 It’s lovely, but the more I looked at it after an unsuccessful try-on, I began to hate the bodice. I took it to Grandma’s to see if there was anything we could do to help it not only fit better, but look better while on. We released two darts in the back and it helped the fit quite a bit, however, the dress, as a dress, looked awful on me.  elephant_down So, I forced Ma (much to her dismay) to chop off the bodice and help me turn it into a skirt. ;100 She almost cried cutting into it because she kept going on about how well made it was, but I’m a mean girl so I made her do it. (Really, it was cause I didn’t have the guts to make the cut myself  :teeheehee: )

It turned out lovely though:

Overall, I’m pretty happy with my purchase. I know now though that I should just stick with buying JSKs or skirts as OPs don’t agree with my body-type. dancey_dancey curly_up

Round up and Excite!

I have some awesome news that I can’t wait to share with you but since I promised, here’s our round up from the last few weeks.  heart_blub It’s a little short-sided since no one else has really put up anything new. I mean, come on. Milky Planet and the new Berry series from AP aren’t even out yet. ;100

So, first up, If you haven’t gotten yours already, then it might be too late for you. Metamorphose has released and sold out of their summer lucky packs!  hk_omg2 If you were fortunate enough to get one, it seems there’s going to be bloomers in them which is a popular LP item right now.  ;250 If you did not get one, perhaps you can wait and watch the sales_comm for someone who wasn’t happy with what they got.  Who knows, you may find one of your dream items in there. hk_pose

Now, onto the “pic related” news from Baby the Stars Shine Bright. They have finally released, alongside their Sugary Cake print, their CREAM*SODA*POP series!! snuggly_bear

Ok, and my good news is: I bought this in a one piece (as seen above)!!   ;80 It’ll not only be my first OP, but my first brand name dress. ;251 Before this dress, I had seen dresses from Brand name places that I liked, but not loved. Other than the Swan Lake print from Meta, this is the only other dress I’ve truly fallen in love with. dancey_dancey curly_up I’m getting the whole set so that I don’t feel like I’ve cheated myself out. (Headbow, dress and the matching socks) hk_love ;32

As far as the community goes, there is a meet-up being organized for AX in LA. So far, we’re still voting on where we’re going to eat so no RSVP has been opened yet. If you’d like more info and to track this event, please click here.

And today is the last call for RSVPs for the Glendale Moonlight Roller Derby meet! It’s tomorrow, June 26th at 6:30pm. I’ll be bringing cupcakes, and if anyone needs a ride, email me for my phone number, I’ll pick you up for 5$. For more information and to let our hostess receive your RSVP, please click here.

Neutral positive for Bodyline

I got received my Bodyline order today! I’m pretty darned pleased with it too. hk_heart Well, I am and I’m not.

I am because, I don’t care what anyone says, I love the Poor Man’s Sugary Carnival. As I’ve heard it called. Duh, it’s a Camero. The poor man’s Corvette. ROFLMAO

I’m not because Bodyline rleased this dress at $50USD and then the day after they shipped it to me, they reduced it $31USD and therefore, screwed me out of $40 or so total. elephant_down This was a huge bummer because I feel like I got ripped. However, this I think is one of their more high quality dresses. The print is nice and sharp, the colors are crisp and it’s nice and long! It also doesn’t have scratchy lace (or much of it). Them hem lace is nice and soft. It’s not shiny, but the shoulder strap lace probably could stand to be ripped off. It’s not necessary. ;287

I had Richie pull these out of the DHL bag they came in and hang them up to help some of the wrinkles fall out before I got home from work. He said he was pleased with the packaging and it was nice and neat so I’m not worried about that. He’s so fussy when it comes to how things are packed as well, so I take his word. ;215

They’re more beautiful than the site showed and more lovely than the first review on EGL of them described. ;194 I’m thourughly pleased with my purchase as far as “You get what you pay for”. The construction is a tiny bit shoddy but nothing a few re-enforcement stitches couldn’t fix.

As you can see, the lace around the top looks a bit scratchy and as far as I can tell, it is. I don’t really think it belongs there anyway, so at some point, I’m going to take a seam ripper to these and get that stuff off there. Not much shirring as you can see so anyone beyond a 100CM in the bust is going to have a fair hard time squeezing into this one. The bust runs just a tiny bit on the small side, so even I have a little trouble getting zipped up. I ordered TLL and it’s still a bit snug. (Thank you, Boobies.)

The hem lace as I mentioned before is actually quite soft. I’ve got no problems with it at all, though at some point, I still may decide to remove it. ;80

Print detail on the dress! Nice and crispy see? I’ll post a larger pic at the end. ;54

This bow is meant to be pinned as a brooch on the waist but I am going to be using it as a headbow. It looks cute on my head. hk_jump

Took a picture of the yellow one in flash so you could see how vibrant the yellow is. Without it, it looked a little dingy since the light was fading and my lamp isn’t quite bright enough to reach the window.  Flash makes things shiny! ;367

Can’t forget, I bought new socks too! To help coordinate a little better. ;195

Now it’s time for photos wearing! :D Please excuse the face-mark. I didn’t do my make up today and so I look really fuggers. ;362 I’d also like to let you know that the reason I love these dresses so much is that they actually come below my knees!! I prefer this in dresses since I don’t like my knees and they help prevent panty/bloomer shots when it gets windy. ;187

Thanks for reading, you guys! I’ll see you guys next time! I need to come up with like a posting schedule. That way, you can check back more regularly to fresh content. ;76
